The next part of being organised..

Target area number 1: Productivity 
Sub Target: House chores

So I thought I would transfer the food method in my last post to the house chores, I would go threw each room one at a time noting the jobs included in that room then create a chores planner and I also thought I could make the results into a page on this blog. I wasn’t sure the best way to do this but here is the write up from my list (covering everything from daily to deep clean) this is probably missing things so please leave comments below and I am also interested on your views on how often each things should be done:

Living Room:

  • Sweeping floors/
  • Hoovering: Floors, in between the sofa, behind the radiators, pulling the sofa out,
  • Dusting: fireplace, TV, TV stand, tables, windowsills, picture frames, Computer, pipes,  skirting board
  • Window cleaning: Windows, TV Screen, Glass in doors
  • Carpet clean/ pressure wash the rug
  • Sorting DVDs out (or getting the Children to as they are the culprits on this)
  • Watering plants before they wilt
  • Marks on the wall: Wiping them off, Painting over them (try to remember to sand down)
  • Mopping floors
  • Clean Light switches

Kitchen:

  • Wipe sides down
  • Clean cupboard fronts
  • Clean light switches
  • Sweeping floors/ Hoover
  • Dusting: windowsills, picture frames, Microwave (external), pipes,  skirting board
  • Window cleaning: Windows, Mirror, Clocks
  • Watering plants before they wilt
  • Marks on the wall: Wiping them off, Painting over them (try to remember to sand down)
  • Cleaning oven/ Grill / Hob
  • Clean the Microwave (internal)
  • Sink: wipe down, use cleaning spray, bleach plug and overflow
  • Cupboards: New food to the back, check dates, take pots and pans out to wipe it all out, clean handles,
  • Draws: declutter, wipe out
  • Fridge: ‘Stock rotation’ check dates, clean shelves, Clean outside
  • Washing machine: clean the door and rubber, wipe down the outside, use washing machine cleaner, clean detergent draw.
  • Dishwasher: Wipe down the outside, use special cleaner on inside, clean filter and take filter tray part out to clean
  • Tumble drier: ALWAYS EMPTY FILTER AFTER USE
  • Kitchen Table and Chairs: wipe down after use, declutter, use protector and table cloth, wipe legs and back of chairs
  • Empty bin

Bathroom:

  • Wipe sides down
  • Clean cupboard fronts
  • Clean light switches
  • Hoover
  • Dusting: windowsills, picture frames, ornaments, skirting board
  • Window cleaning: Windows, Mirror
  • Watering plants before they wilt
  • Marks on the wall: Wiping them off, Painting over them (try to remember to sand down)
  • Sink: wipe down, use cleaning spray, bleach plug and overflow
  • Cupboards: wipe it all out, clean handles,
  • Bath: rinse after use, spray and wipe down, mold spray
  • Shower: Anti limescale (or white vinegar) shower head, unit after use, (glass cleaner if applicable), (wash/change shower curtain if applicable), wipe top of unit (as it gets damp dusting is limited in  bathroom)
  • Leave window open to air out when wet/ use vent (we haven’t got one but i would still recommend a good airing out)
  • Toilet: Clean seat, Bleach, Limescale remover, wipe base and around the back
  • Clean pipes
  • Empty bin

Bed Rooms:

  • Hoovering: Floors, cupboards, behind the radiators, behind/ under the beds, materess to remove dust mite
  • Dusting: windowsills, picture frames, ornaments, pipes, chest of draws, shelves, headboard,  skirting board
  • Window cleaning: windows, mirror
  • Carpet Clean
  • Marks on the wall: Wiping them off, Painting over them (try to remember to sand down)
  • Clean Light switches
  • Change bedding

Hallway/ Stairs:

  • Hoover
  • Dust: Shelf, windowsill, banister, skirting board
  • Wipes walls/ Paint
  • Window clean

 

Clothes:

  • Put clothes that aren’t dirty away
  • Dirty in wash basket
  • light and darks separate in machine
  • Iron
  • Fold/hang
  • Mend/ recycle/ Bin

Maybe there are items you won’t need but I went threw my rooms and based this on what I have, I will tackle the garden another day! Looking forward to some interaction on this post ❤
